Running payroll

Salary components, payslips and how payroll reaches your accounts.

📘 User Guide

Payroll in Corevia is built around salary components rather than a single salary figure, so allowances and deductions are itemised and can differ per employee.

Start by defining the components your organisation uses — basic, house rent, medical, transport, provident fund, tax deducted at source, and so on. Each is marked as an earning or a deduction. Then assign the relevant components and amounts to each employee.

When you run payroll for a period, Corevia generates a payslip per employee showing gross, each component and net pay. Approving the run posts the accounting entry: salary expense is debited, and payables (net pay, PF, tax) are credited, so unpaid salary sits correctly as a liability until you actually pay it.

Festival bonuses are handled separately so they do not distort your monthly salary comparison, but they post through the same route.
